Alice in Wunderland

Kit as Alice

I have been working on a new series of paintings, themed after the story "Alice in Wonderland". The idea hit me in November of 2008, while visiting a friend who shared his copy of Salvador Dali illustrated version of Alice in Wonderland. I read the story again, and loved it. However, Dali had done these crazy images to go along with the story. In any event, this will be the first time I have decided to share the "process" of how I work. I am using all female models for all of the characters in the story. I am using my usual cast of favorites, to include, my wife Jennifer, Madaline, Phoebe, Sable, and Tara. When it came to Alice, I was stumped. I finally got her. A friend, Kit Pistol of TV show "Project Runway" is it. Last week sometime, my all time fave photographer Pat Rogers shot the reference images I needed to finish up the series. The show will debut at the Brett Wesley Gallery in Las Vegas some time late this year or early 2010. Can't wait to share the finished goods!!
